Motor Vehicle Repair

A Motor Vehicle Repair license is required of any person or company that repairs, overhauls, dismantles or does any mechanical or body work to motor vehicles.

Unless a person is making repairs on his/her own vehicle on his/her home premise, such repairs may not be made in a residential garage, home or in the yard on any premise in the City within an R-1, R-2, or R-3 residence district, regardless of if the work done is free of charge or for compensation.

Code Requirements

Guidance relating to Motor Vehicle Repair is contained in the Maplewood City Code, Chapter 14, Article XI. All license holders are required to be familiar with the provisions of this Chapter and with applicable Minnesota Statutes and federal regulations.
