Commercial Kennel

A Commercial Kennel license is required of any person or company that operates a kennel within the city. City Code Section 10-371 defines Kennel as any place which operates to provide for boarding, training, confining or otherwise caring for or providing service to dogs, cats or any other domestic pets, and includes any place where more than two female dogs, cats or other domestic pets are kept for breeding purposes. This requirement does not apply to a veterinary hospital or clinic operated by a duly licensed and qualified doctor of veterinary medicine licensed under the laws of the state.

Code Requirements

Guidance relating to Commercial Kennels is contained in the Maplewood City Code, Chapter 10, Article V. All license holders are required to be familiar with the provisions of this chapter and with applicable Minnesota Statutes and federal regulations.
