St. Paul Police Training Facility - 2621 Linwood Ave E

The Saint Paul Police Department proposes to update the existing training facility at 2621 Linwood Avenue. Ramsey County owns the site, and the City of Saint Paul has leased it since the mid-1960s. The proposed project will replace the classroom training facility with accessibility and safety upgrades, including a classroom, two armories, men's and women's locker rooms, a kitchenette/break room, and ADA-compliant restrooms. The existing facility utilizes well and septic infrastructure, both of which will be replaced due to the age of the existing systems.

City code requires a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the public building and its use on the property. Since a CUP was not initially acquired for the site, the proposed project must obtain one to comply with city regulations. The site design plans require community design review board approval, and the site includes designated wetland areas that require a 100’ buffer, for which this project will require a variance.
