Overnight Parking Permits
- Each permit is valid for ONE vehicle only.
- Permits are valid only for the time frame specified up to 365 days.
- Applicant must show a hardship in order to receive a permit. (hard-ship can be defined as having too many vehicles/licensed drivers for the amount of off-street parking available between garages and surface parking.)
- The street or area where the vehicle will be parked must be free of obstructions and able to maintain flow for traffic and emergency vehicles.
- Sergeants, lieutenants, commanders, and the chief can approve a permit.
- Parking permits will be logged in the MWPD – Parking Complaints, Permissions, and Permits Log in our record management system.
- The placard MUST be displayed so that it is visible from outside the vehicle.
- Permits are not valid during a snow event of 2 inches or more until streets have been plowed.
- There is a $50.00 per vehicle per year fee for a parking permit.
