APPLICATION WINDOWS AND LOTTERY POLICY FOR 2026 RENTAL DATES

Below are the application windows for 2026 rental dates at the Wakefield Community Building. Please see the “How to Submit a Rental Application” section below for details on submitting an application.

Lottery Application Window: Time range within which any application submitted is eligible for a random lottery for a date which had multiple applications submitted.

Regular Applications Accepted: Any application submitted from this point forth will be first come first right of review based on time of application submission.

January and February Rental Dates

  • Regular Applications Accepted: Beginning November 4th

March-December Rental Dates

  • Lottery Application Window: January 5th 8:00am-2:00pm.
    • If you need to submit a hard copy application, you can do so by dropping it off in the front door mail slot anytime December 29th – January 5th. Application must be received by 2pm on January 5h.
  • Regular Applications Accepted: Beginning January 6th

WEEKEND (Sat/Sun) DATES AVAILABLE (as of 3/3):

The building is open for rental throughout the week, the below dates only reflect open dates for Saturday and Sundays. For Monday-Friday availability submit an application or email about your requested date.

The Wakefield Park Community Building is a beautiful facility that is great for hosting small-medium sized family gatherings, baby showers, celebration of life, graduation and birthday parties, and more.

The building is also available during the weekday and is great for offsite meetings, team building or work luncheons.

To submit an application:

Check availability with the dates listed above. If your date is listed as open, or you are looking for a weekday date, you can verify availability by emailing recreationonline@maplewoodmn.gov or submit an application.

Rental application can be found in the Wakefield Park Community Building Rental Packet.

  1. Completed applications must be submitted, approved and payment made 14 days prior to requested rental date. 
  2. Review the Wakefield Park Community Building Rental Packet, including the Rental Guidelines and Responsibilities on page 2 prior to submitting an application. 
  3. Complete the application in full including signature and submit by emailing completed application to recreationonline@maplewoodmn.gov. You can submit the PDF or a picture of the full PDF.
  4. Your application submittal is timestamped via email. Please allow 1-3 business days for review prior to following up.
  5. If approved, an approval email will be sent and outline the final rental fee, payment information and next steps to secure the rental. After approval email is sent, rental fee is required within 7 days to reserve the facility, after 7 days the hold will be released and date opened back to public.

  • Facility Supervisor On Site For Duration Of Rental
  • Max Rental Attendance: 74 people
  • 5' Round Tables and Chairs (max 11 tables, seats up to 66)
  • Chairs Only-theater seating (seats up to 74)

  • Basic Cleaning Supplies
  • Servery with:
    • 40 Cup Coffee Maker
    • Microwave
    • Refrigerator

  • Trash and Recycling Receptacles
  • Outdoor Patio with Seating - Patio is included with each building rental and is designated for the private use of that rental, no public usage allowed.

FAQ's:

  • Can I have outside food or food catered for my event?
    • YES YOU CAN BRING IN YOUR OWN FOOD OR HAVE FOOD CATERED.
  • Is alcohol allowed at my event?
    • NO WE DO NOT ALLOW ALCOHOL OF ANY KIND
  • Are bounce houses allowed?
    • INFLATBALES ARE NOT ALLOWED AT MAPLEWOOD PARKS.
  • Is the building climate controlled?
    • YES THERE IS AC AND HEAT FOR YEAR ROUND COMFORT.
  • It states "no open flames" in the rules. Can I have chaffing dish candles?
    • YES CHAFFING DISH CANDLES ARE ALLOWED.
