The County Road B and Arcade Street Improvements, City Project 19-22, is a full street reconstruction project being performed in conjunction with Xcel Energy’s gas main replacement project. The project includes many improvements including a full removal and replacement of the street pavement and supporting layers along with the addition of new concrete curb and gutter. Utility improvements include the removal and replacement of portions of the watermain system, the installation of additional storm sewer, and repairs to the existing sanitary sewer system. Pedestrian walkways are also proposed along the south side of County Road B, along the west side of Arcade Street (south of County Road B), and along the east side of Arcade Street (north of County Road B).
Significant progress has been made on the project improvements. The current schedule calls for the remainder of the utility repairs to be completed in mid-September, with the remainder of the concrete curb and gutter being installed in early October. The project is on schedule to be completed by the end of October 2020.
The assessment hearing for this project has been delayed until fall of 2020. Affected property owners will receive an official statement of assessment, an invitation to the assessment hearing, and information on assessment payment options later this summer. It is currently anticipated that the assessment hearing will be held on October 12, 2020.
