Ferndale-Ivy Area Street Improvements

About the Project

Ferndale-Ivy Area Street Improvements, City Project 18-01, is a full street reconstruction project with construction scheduled for June to October 2019. The project includes many improvements to the neighborhood including the full removal of the existing street, the installation of new pavement, a new aggregate base and sand sub-base to support the road, and new concrete curb and gutter. Utility improvements include upgrades to the watermain system, sanitary sewer system, and the installation of a new storm sewer system. Concrete sidewalks are also proposed along Ivy Avenue and Ferndale Street to provide an off-street location for pedestrians.

Project Status Update: July 22, 2019

All utility work on Ferndale Street and Ivy Avenue (west of Ferndale) has been completed. The contractor is currently working on building the road base along Ferndale Street. This road base building process will shift to the west end of Ivy Avenue the week of July 29th. Utility work, including watermain repairs and storm sewer installations, will shift to Mayhill Road and the Farrell-Hawthorne-Dennis Loop over the coming weeks.
