Join other bird enthusiasts to explore Fish Creek’s scenic vistas for songbirds and raptors riding air thermals. Learn techniques for identifying birds. We’ll provide the Bagels and cream cheese; you provide a beverage. Binoculars available, or bring your own.
All skill levels welcome. Closed-toed shoes and long pants recommended

For boys and girls born in 2005 to 2008. Maplewood Parks and Recreation is working with North East United Soccer Club (NEU) to offer a new recreational soccer league. In this introductory league, teams will have one practice and one game per week, which is a great option for a busy family. Participants will have the opportunity to work with our local NEU Soccer Club. This partnership provides quality coaching to not only the kids, but also the parent volunteer coaches for their teams. Register by August 2. Practices begin the week of August 21.

Parents and children ages 4-6. This innovative program gets parents on the court working with their kids. The kids will have fun learning basic tennis skills and hand-eye coordination. Lightweight rackets and smaller nets are provided. Parents should bring their own racket.

Ages 3-5. This class includes the Wish Upon a Ballet curriculum with the added fun of tap! An introduction to the movements and vocabulary of these disciplines are taught with the help of musical instruments, parachutes, and scarves. Students will develop poise, strength, and flexibility. Ballet and tap shoes are required.

Ages 7-9. Participants will learn all of the basic tennis strokes: serve, volley, and groundstrokes. Lively drills will keep the class fast moving and loads of fun! Lightweight rackets are provided.

Ages 10-12. This program is for kids that want to play tennis! Participants will learn all the basic strokes and rules of tennis. Each session will end with group games that emphasize fun while improving strokes. Students must bring their own rackets.

Ages 3-5. Wish Upon a Ballet is a dance program for children that incorporates popular children's stories, as well as ballet stories to create a dance class that is more than ballet steps. Using musical instruments, parachutes, and scarves, we will create a complete fairy tale experience while we skip, leap, jump, and spin. This way, an introduction to the movements and vocabulary of ballet are taught in a fun and creative manner. Children will learn an appreciation of dance and music while developing strength and flexibility. Come join the fun! Girls and boys will need ballet shoes. Girls should wear a leotard and tights. Boys should wear comfortable clothes they can move around in.
